This technology is used primarily to power network devices such as PoE Zigbee gateways, IP cameras, IP intercoms, VoIP phones, wireless access points and other network-connected devices without a separate power source. PoE simplifies the installation and maintenance of these devices, making it a popular choice for a variety of applications, including networking, telecommunications and security monitoring.

- "LAN" - to the router or access point;
- "PoE" - to PoE devices.
